Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) Educators Needed!

Hiring PAR Educators for 2019-2020!

The posting for PAR positions for the 2019-2020 school year have been recently reposted with new evaluation requirements. A proficient SET evaluation is required within the last three years – rather than the last two years – as previously posted. Please continue reading below for more information.

Are you looking for leadership opportunities to work with your colleagues, to support student achievement and to engage more deeply with equity work? The Peer Assistance & Review (PAR) Program is a collaboration between Saint Paul Public Schools and the Saint Paul Federation of Educators. The purpose of the PAR program is to support the professional growth of SPPS teachers, primarily those new to the district. The main role of a PAR Educator is to enhance self-directed learning through coaching, as well as collaborating, consulting, and supporting administration in the evaluation process. PAR Educators use a variety of coaching tools, while keeping equity in the forefront of their work with teachers. PAR Educators also support teachers around lesson planning, implementing effective instruction, and moving toward personalizing learning for students. PAR Educators support teachers in their work towards eliminating racial disproportionality and addressing the achievement gap. PAR Educators collaborate with administrators to provide teachers with quality, useful feedback on teacher performance.

We are currently considering candidates for full-time PAR positions for the 2019-2020 school year, particularly in the following licensure areas: Mathematics, Elementary Education, ELL, and Special Education. Visit the HR website to view the posting and apply. If you have questions about the application process, please contact HR. If you have questions about the nature of PAR work, please contact Heidi Dunlap at heidi.dunlap@spps.org.
